After a wild few years in celebrity pot, Travis Barker kicks off the 2024 entries by hitting like a meteor named Barker Cannabis Co.

The space has seen its ups and downs. Not all the celebs who dabbled in cannabis are still among us. They all can’t be B-Real or Gwyneth Paltrow. But Barker’s name value with people who smoke pot and his arrival after the worst the industry had to offer may be a ticket to success for him.

We can’t even fathom the tonnage of marijuana that has been incinerated with Baker hitting his snare in the background be it with blink-182 or any of the fun side projects he has had over the years blaring out of the speakers. Barker transcends a lot more of cannabis culture than many of his famous peers.

Sure, Oscar winners and NBA Champs are dope, but there is an argument to be said that  Barker covers an even wider swath of society because he is so loved by many of the folks who love those things. He helped pull pop punk into a mainstream place that it never departed. Blink-182 is widely considered the most influential band of the genre ever.

Those types of generational influencers bring a different level of excitement into whatever they do because of that “can they catch the magic again” factor that we all tune in for. Be it the fans who want to see the win or the haters who hope for the opposite, everyone is watching. And to Barker’s defense, he isn’t out there just tossing his name around.

He had a decent entry into the CBD space a couple of years back, but now he enters the realm of the real full spectrum. The line will have Live Rosin and Full Gram Vaporizers, Real-Fruit Gummies and Mini Infused Pre-Rolls.

Given my appreciation for cannabis, the launch of Barker Canna Co. was a natural next step. I’m thrilled to offer cannabis enthusiasts a range of products that embody both my commitment to clean, quality cannabis goods and my appreciation for cannabis culture,” Barker said in a press release announcing the new brand.

Barker went on to note that he wanted to help people get their creative juices flowing with the new line.

“The Barker Canna Co. products deliver top-notch care for your cannabis experience and I’m confident that the products will spark inspiration and self-expression through your cannabis journey,” Barker said, “I look forward to sharing the unique benefits of Barker Canna Co. and hope this collection not only elevates your cannabis experience but also empowers your creative spirit like it does for me.”

We are hoping that will be the case. Those types of products are trickier to grade quality on because you can’t see the material. You can still grade experience and flavor, but it’s hard to know just how boutique something is without seeing every step of the process.

In most cases, you might try and grade the quality of the pens against the flower a company is putting in bags. The ethos of that thought process is if they have heat flowers, why would they skimp on the oil? That is not an option with the new line.

But the hardware is solid. Some of the best vape pens of the last few years have been backed by CCell tech from Jupiter. It’s easy to see the devil’s advocate saying why would they spend top dollar on hardware just to fill it with garbage? That is a fair take.

Blink-182 was on the soundtrack of the latest installment of Terps and Tears last Saturday. We asked founder Kimi Blair if she was excited to see Barker getting into the mix,

“Being one of the few in the handful of emo kids in the cannabis community, it makes my heart less sad to see incredible artists that I grew up listening and crying to, emerging into the scene,” Blair told L.A. Weekly. “I love nothing more than bringing emo culture into the cannabis culture as we do with our event Terps and Tears where we definitely throw on some blink-182 and get real nostalgic. Shoutout to Travis on this fire drop! Can’t wait to try some of these goodies for myself.”
