Interpol’s dark, melodic sound has remained solid through line-up and label changes that led to tangent explorations over the years. Lyrically they remain one of the most expressive and poetic bands still making music. On last year’s The Other Side of Make-Believe, their seventh album, singer Paul Banks emotes and sounds as enigmatic as ever, making it a record both old and new fans can appreciate.

The gloomier aspects of the music made the New York band sort of neo-goth faves when they started out, but they’ve always been more varied than they got credit for and the mature place they’re at now proves it. Live at the Greek, their lush atmospherics and urgent hooks are sure to be as arresting as ever on the new stuff, and hopefully the classics still in regular listening rotation for many of us from Antics and Turn On the Bright Lights.

Interpol at the Greek: The event takes place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday-Monday, October 29-30. lagreektheatre.com/events/detail/interpol-1
