From IT to The Terrifier, clowns continue to creep into the scariest contemporary movies. But one of the best films to highlight their horrific appeal did so over three decades ago. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Killer Klowns from Outer Space will take the center ring at this year’s HorrorCon LA at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Creators the Chiodo Bros (who wrote, directed, and produced the film) will be on hand alongside music composer John Massari at the event and there will be poster signings, a cosplay contest and a Klowns-themed dance party with theme song rockers The Dickies performing live. MGM Interactive Games will also be sharing all the deets about the brand new Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game.

Beyond the red nosed ragers, HorrorCon has a lot more too: appearances by the likes of Linda Blair, Kevin Dillon, and casts from Slumber Party Massacre, Freddy vs. Jason, Evil Dead, and more; special effects artists, vendors, “sliding” scare actor stunt shows, panels and an auto show with a lot more clown cars. 1201 S Figueroa St., Downtown; Sat., Sept. 30- Sun., Oct. 1.
